Thanks, I looked at the HF one but I prefer this style. Do you have any discount codes?

BF they were doing free shipping on everything (but I don't know if that included freight). That's the only time I've seen deals on shipping thru TSC.

edit: hell ya know HD will price match just about anyone. See if you can find a rep who doesn't ask about the shipping or you can convince you can also get it shipped to your local TSC for the $790.........if you want to go to that effort for another $24

Yep. I see the ram slides but there's no bed winch I can make out. Super PITA to adjust Z space in that case. Whatever floats your boat but for even money (probably 20% less at HF w coupon) you're money ahead. I've had their 50T press for years; the pre-installed bed winch is worth its weight in gold. Seems like I have to move the bed every other time I use it.

I checked out the HF 20 ton and it's total junk. I can't imagine the 50 ton being that much better. No offense but tons of guys swear by the 20 ton model here and after what I saw in person I can't go by a lot of people's standards here.

The 50T is in a completely different league. I'm not a big fan of the Ford Focus but I like my F350

I've never exactly seen Torin/Big Red as the gold standard of quality either.....

a 25% off code is still way more then the HD or TS price for the same press with a different name.

Right now I'm looking at the one at HD which ships to store free but I have to pay sales tax. But I can get my dads military discount 10% off.

$814.12 x 10% off = $732.71 + tax = $784.00

And I'd rather have this one over the HF one.

364 lbs for the Big Red vs 645 lbs for the HF. Nearly 300lbs heavier is nearly double the weight. The hardest part about the HF is figuring out how to stand it up LOL.

The cart let me apply a 20% coupon (hold out for a 25% maybe) taking it to $640. They wanted $96.94 for truck freight for me taking it to $735.94 to my door (or probably to my freight terminal as I prefer to pick up in my truck anyway).

You only get 21 5/8" between the channels of the Big Red, I've got 32" in my HF 50T. If you ever want to break plate or load any wide work this is a big deal.

The HF comes with arbor plates which are really just pcs of flat bar 1.875" thick, 14.5" long. Each arbor plate weighs over 23lbs alone LOL.

If the pressure gauge is accurate on mine it stalls out around 47T; at that point there is slight deflection in the bed but nothing that concerns me. I also like having the pressure gauge for dimple dies (I see the Big Red has one, too); I might find that 5T provides a nice dimple and then I can just hit the number everytime - not so much for repeatability as just time savings - I know when I've gone enough and can back off and move on to the next hole.

I know Jamie has made his choice, just providing this for others in the future. Paying more to get less isn't my style.

What is the total width of that HF 50T I don't think I want to give up that much space for pressing in the occasional wheel stud or axle bearing.

I only work on my own vehicles and I'm sure a 20T HF press would do me just fine but I wanted something that was a little nicer (and taller). The 30T TCE is over double the weight of the 20T HF so I've already stepped up in that area. There is always a bigger better one out there but I'd be lucky to use it twice a year so do I need it.

Press itself is 39". Figure the pump adds ~5" on the right and the hand winch adds 9.5" on the left including the handle. I put mine on casters which is awesome for any shop press.
