It works for doors that are not too heavy. We have built a few sliding doors made out of insulated garrage door sections and because they were light it worked great. No experience with super heavy framing and steel siding. Just thinking out loud.

Used barn door track (called Box Rail) to close off two interior openings (one 36" the other 72" which needed two doors). Built the doors myself. Ordered the box rail, hangers and trolleys from Amazon. They work great and my wife is very happy with them. Most of the standard barn door hardware is made by Stanley in the USA. You can go decorative, but it will cost more.

It works pretty good. When I enclosed my pole barn, I left a 10 foot tall, 16 wide opening. Used the TSC track and rollers to hang 8 wide, 10 foot tall doors made out of 1.25" angle iron and skinned it with 26 gauge R panel. The door sections ended up being MUCH heavier than planned.
That was about 6 years ago. Doors still glide back and forth. And that is without a much needed bottom track/roller setup. I say much needed not because the top rollers cannot handle it, but my 2x12 box header is bowing outward and downward because of the weight.
I didn't plan it far enough ahead, so there was no concrete down there to place a track.
So my tip would be the rollers are great, but incorporate a bottom roller system. Not only wont you have to worry about sag, the doors wont bang every time the wind blows. I have holes in my walls from opening the door and a gust of wind coming by and the door catches one of the raised ribs of the wall paneling.

Also, if your interested I have some extra roller hangers. I have two openings, and mounted tracks to both of them, however I never got around to building the doors for the other side. The rollers are just sitting in the boxes. Sell em for half of what TSC is asking plus shipping.

I used a section of Tractor Supply's track and a set of rollers for a trolley for lifting engines to the garage's second floor. No more than about 200 lbs each. It works well.

I use it with a HF electric winch attached to the trolley. I know I've had more than 500 lbs on it with just two rollers 12" apart. I'm satisfied with both products.
