I retired late last year so one day I went to a local junk yard I didn't even know was there. I found a traffic light that I liked and picked it up for $75. That is very cheap for my neck of the woods. One of the eye lids was split so that was a good bargaining tool for a cheaper price and an easy fix. Thought it would be nice in the garage since the wife and I are big into Classic trucks. I put some power to it and all the LED lights still worked but they all came on. After giving it a good cleaning I went online looking for a sequencer and how to hook one up. Got all the information I needed so I put an order in for a sequencer. Nice looking traffic light for about $100.

Very cool. Looks like yours was in good condition when you got it. When I retired in 2014, the plant manager gave me two double stop/go lights. I combined them to make a three-light and a single. Mine are probably older than yours, as mine has incandescent lighting, but I like your hoods better than mine. I had to sandblast mine and repaint. I think they're from the 60's.

Nice looking lights. I was initially going to repaint it but the wife said just clean it up and leave it the way it is. Nice patina.

I know what you mean. The wife and I would see them at car shows at the swap meets but the average price around here is about $150-$250. We were antique shopping one weekend and saw a traffic light in one of the stores in a small town but they wanted $225. About a month later the wife and I attended a cruise-in they were having in that small town and they had that same traffic light on display in the front window for all the Hot Rod guys to see but now the price was $350.

Here's mine. As I understand from the late '30s early 40s. I restored it many years ago and put in a sequencer. FWIW, mine will not illuminate LED bulbs...

I'd like to do another. An enjoyable project.

That looks pretty sharp dude. Is it all metal? That would bring a good price if you ever wanted to sell it.

I like how you wall mounted your light. I bought an eye bolt and washers to hand it from the ceiling.

Nice truck and garage - I had the pick of the litter out of a pile of them some 20y ago @ Carlisle PA for cheap.

Mine is very large, incandescent, and was in great shape. I mounted up in a similar back corner and chose not to put on a sequencer and use it for ambient light. Still makes me smile. I suspect it draws a fair amount of power as those bulbs are VERY robust. I converted one to LED when it went out and no noticeable difference. I should go back and do the rest ;)

I have a two bulb fixture, one amber light on top, one on the bottom that alternate,the center has an illuminated "SCHOOL ZONE" glass lense. Some day I'm going to redo it and have the center part read "DRINKING ZONE"...

Thanks for the comments. I'm just your average Joe city dweller with a 2 1/2 car garage on steroids' wishing it were bigger.

Came with a 90° mounting bracket
Looks like we have the same controller

The "Traffic Light Ahead" road sign is waiting for me to build a "room divider" (I have a 4' x 8' sheet of 1/2" plywood left over form the build of the garage that will do nicely) on casters to hopefully muffler some of the noise from the compressor. The sign will then be mounted on the plywood

Thanks. Yes, all metal. Fancy finials and all. It was originally a 3 light fixture that fit onto a pole. Weighed a ton. I took the best parts to make one good light.

It's an Eaglelux signal.

I think I had always wanted a traffic light from watching "Mr Roger's Neighborhood"
He had one in his room!
I got one at a state auction a few years ago and added a sequencer.
Also, added a motion detector from an cheap floodlight, so the traffic light only works when I am in the shop moving around. Works pretty well.

wire it up to a sensor to change to red when your truck is right where you want to stop

nice!

I have a couple of crosswalk signs and got a controller from Galak, works well. I have them hanging from some wire of a shelf in the garage, one day I might put them into a frame of some kind.
