Trailer Hitches - Made In USA

Had to buy a trailer hitch recently and everything I saw in auto stores was Made In China. Didn't think there were any Made In USA until I saw some NOS at a local auto store. I picked up a Curt brand hitch for the same price as other places wanted for a Chinese one.

Valley are still made in usa for now, 99% of the universals are china sourced.

Thanks for Sharing.. Its been awhile since ive had to buy a Hitch as my last few trucks have already had the Towing Package. I wonder if the Current line up of Curt is USA? What about Reese?

Hmm.. Never Heard of Valley. Looks like they have been in the Hitch business for quite awhile though.

As far as I can tell from the web site, they are still manufacturing in the USA. I say NOS because they had like two on the shelf. Looked like they had switched over to a different brand. All the Reese I've seen are China.

I also bought some rubber tie-down straps made by "Radiator Speciality Company" and was really surprised to see the USA label.

I believe ACME brand hitches are made in Kansas City Missouri. I installed a class IV ACME on my Silverado. Very well made. As others have mentioned, Curt hitches are USA made. They are also very well made and come powder coated, not painted. Installed one on my sisters Explorer.

I don't think I could do without my rapid hitch, by Anderson Hitches. I can't remember, but the lock pins may have been imported.

Zombie thread, but 13 years later, most Curt hitches in the store (weldments, not forgings) are made in USA still. Eau Claire WI, according to their website.

When I bought mine several years ago, it came with a keyed alike set of locking pins for the hitch ball and receiver.

What part of a receiver hitch is forged? The only part I've seen forged is the drawbar.

The OP (and I) are talking about hitches (you can call it a drawbar, but almost no one does), not hitch receivers.

Drawbars are for tractors.
Hitches get bolted to the truck frame.
