I just got done doing pretty much the same thing to my 16'. I started out with intentions to just replace the deck and replace some broken lights, but it snowballed. I bobbed 2' off the back, mounted some ramps, painted it, rewired it, and re-decked it. 2 coats of diesel and motor oil and she's ready to go. New trailer.
