Ok guys I'm building a trailer to haul mine and my wife's atvs around. It's a 6 by 10 and in order to get both of them on the have to be loaded side ways. I will be putting angle iron rails on it but I want the left side to come off and be used as ramps. I was just wondering if any one else has something like this and if so how did the fasten there removable rails on there trailer.

I still need to make fenders and planning on buying new wheels and tires. One atv will have to straddle the wheel/fender to load....

Thanks in advance. 181d1a1003bd5d9b0fedb5dfa639787c.jpg8e0ea8ab0839d70b7ef8516785575b9b.jpg

Stake bed hardware. Been around since trucks were on the scene. Keep trailer flexability by installing all the way around.

A friend has a 3 quad trailer that loads from the side. The whole side is hinged and made from expanded metal. Flip the latches front and rear and drop the side and the whole thing is a ramp.

I have a 6.6x12 with pipe sides. I made the front right section of pipe slide into its self and pin in place. Personaly i dont use ramps because my quads can get up there with out them. If i needed ramps i would use an aluminum one. Steel ramps are very heavy.

Dont forget a gear basket or fuel rack on your trailer. Dirty boots, fuel cans, coolers and spare parts are all nice to keep on the trailer. But i do tow with an SUV.

Don't put side rails on at all.

Weld some 1-1/2" square sections along the sides for stake pockets/spacers [later usage]
Then weld 3/4" to 1" round to these spacers on the sides for tie-down rails.
These rails can be used to support ramps when loading, then put on the other side for unloading. [drive on/drive off]
Ratchet tie-downs each side is enough to stop your ATV's falling off

For fenders use pieces of plastic drums or truck mudflaps. That way you can drive over them .
