I have noticed not a lot on here for trailer tool box plans. I am currently in the process of redoing a used goose-neck i got cheap. It is a 14k titan tilt deck 20 ft. where 16 ft tilts and the front 4 foot is stationary. I am adding a harbor freight 12k lbs winch. I am also removing an old box that was on the stationary part. That took up the whole 4 ft the previous owner owned a landscape company. I am enclosing the winch in an old truck tool box. I am also adding another old truck tool box for a battery box and to hold odd and ends. I like the used truck tool boxes seem to be able to locate cheap and make work for what i am planning. I was wondering if anyone had and suggestions or pictures to held me along the way with my build. I am mainly using the trailer for towing cars. I am adding a led light bar for loading stuff up at night if I have too. I was also going to be adding a fuse block to the trailer.

I went the trailer hitch winch plate route, so I can just take the winch off and store it inside. I can also swap between the deckover and the equipment trailer easily that way. I have seen a few guys do it and just blow out a smallish hole for everything. You should easily be able to get it all in one compact truck (ranger, s10) box. I'd probably rattle it black, too.

I will work on getting pics uploaded tonight after i finish some more loose ends up. I probably could have only did one tool box but wanted to also add some strap and tool storage. I also ended up putting the winch on a fork lift quick plug going from the battery. I did this so i could easily power the winch with some extra long jumper cables in the event the battery dies. I can also use the trailer battery as a jump pack with that same set up of cable. I am also planning on making a battery charger quick hook up point to charge the battery when i got home if needed. I found a great deal on a 66' set off of amazon for $70 that were 2 gauge.

Did you happen to pick up a wireless controller for the winch? They are VERY handy when setting up and making the pull.

Nice, I put a receiver hitch on the front of my deck and store the winch when not in use. So not to give up space when not in use/needed. My goose neck is a 16'er with a 2' dove tail. Just wish it fit in the toolbox up top better, it is bear to get in and out of there.

Having a winch makes a trailer SO much nicer to use.

yes i have got the wireless controller adding that to the box next. I had a bumper pull car trailer that i did the hitch way that also works great. I did not want to do that with this trailer since it had the power jack. I already had a need for battery. The car trailer i ran just off of jumper cables that i made that were 40 foot long. That is part of the reason that i ended up making the winch once again with that plug i know how well that works. I am also hoping that i can jump cars with that dc battery since it has the same end on it.
