Greetings fellow garage-heads.
This has to do with my "mobile garage" - my race trailer.
I want to install a 12V electric winch, but I only use it a half dozen times a year and don't want to spend a grand on a mega-winch. I have seen a ton of them on eBay, but I also don't want one that has a 10 foot-per-minute line speed!
Have any of you heard of Rand winches? Check out this link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...d=1,1&item=8041896490&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT. This is a 4500 lb model. Everything I have read says you should buy a winch that is 20% over your rolling weight and 4500 lb should do it.
Have any of you purchased one of these (or larger)? What has been your experience?
Thanks for any input.
