Hi all,
So the previous owner had an Aprilaire 5000 EAC installed but looking at it, they hardwired it to the power - piggybacking off the 240 for the HVAC. That means this thing is running 24/7. Should be wired to run only when the blower is running. Looking at the air cleaner manual, they say to:
Install a single outlet receptacle to the furnace/air handler cabinet which conforms to NEC standards as well as all applicable local codes, using 1 of the 2 options below: Figure 9- Use the furnace/air handler EAC terminals to wire the outlet. Figure 10- If EAC terminals are not available use the Model 51 (supplied) to wire the outlet and refer to the instructions provided with the Model 51. The outlet must only energize when the system blower is on. IMPORTANT: Identify the outlet for “EAC USE ONLY”

How can I tell if my air handler has the EAC terminals? It is a Trane from 2014 - TAM7A0C36H31. Can't see any reference to that in a manual I found online but I am not an HVAC wiring expert.
Found the manual for the Model 51: https://s3.amazonaws.com/s3.supplyhouse.com/product_files/51-APR-install.pdf
Anyone have any advice or thoughts on this?
Thanks,
