Transfer Pump

I am looking to get a transfer pump for fuel, something like this

If it did gas also it would be good but more expensive; my main need is for diesel, so this is good. An AC version would be more practical for my need, but again, much more expensive as it is on higher end models costing 3 times the price.

This model states 24 amp needed. So what are my options;

• A standard car battery hooked up to a battery tender?

• Would a small U1 battery for garden tractors be sufficient?

• I have an AC outlet nearby my installation, what inexpensive setups could made

I have looked at AC to DC converter/inverters but they are not cheap when you need 24 amps or higher.

Any other thoughts or ideas on getting a DC powered transfer pump to work inexpensively, would be appreciated.

Not trying to overthink it, but how long would a regular car battery work if this pump uses 24 amp, before needing to recharge? Can I operate it 10 minutes straight without needing to recharge it?

I've moved a lot of waste oil, diesel and coolant at work with the HF 12v transfer pumps. They have an AC version as well. They include a replacement vane for the pump, but I haven't needed to replace one yet. One nice thing about the 12v is you can swap leads to reverse flow direction.

That's pretty cool, but not something I need. Till the COVID stuff is over, I can't get to the US, thus no Harbor Freight. Besides, these are pumps only, when you add the nozzle, hose, and suction pipe, they are about the price of the Fuelworks I am looking at.....except for the AC powered unit. That is a great price for an AC unit.

**** Just noticed in the description, these are intended for water. You can use them for diesel, but typically not advisable.
