I don't understand. What are you trying to do?
A simple transformer will take 240 to 460.
An RPC is to "make" 3 phase power from single phase.
You're kinda asking 2 different things.
Cutting your amps by doubling the voltage will not reduce your load, about all the good it will do is if you have a voltage drop problem with long runs of wire.
If I wire my 3 phase motors to the higher voltage I'll cut the load amps in half.
For what reason do you want to cut your load amps in half? What is the up side here that you hope to gain?

just going to 480V is not going to help you, there will still be the higher current on the transformer primary & .
Do I have any options, my main concern is amps because of the load center limits. No electric bill with my shop lease. I want to test two 15 hp Champion compressors so motor change isn't an option. Thanks for all the help, Shawn.
your amps on the 240v side will be the same as if you were using a 240v motor. the amps will only be lower on the 460v side of the transformer. how is this going to help with your loadcenter?
oh, so youll put additional idlers after the transformer? what are you going to use to switch them, for overcurrent protection, etc? 480v is a whole different game...
