What could I use here to cover the carpet coming apart?

Would need to glue down, not firing nails into the slab.

Carpet is apartment, concrete is shop.

No carpet isn't gross, just shadows. Some wear areas, but it serves the purpose for now.

I bought a transition strip off Amazon, but it's only 2" wide. Would need around 6"

why are you opposed to fastening to the concrete?
we usually drill a 1/8 " hole into the concrete, put in a pc of 1/8 dowel & nail the trim pc in place
for 6" I'd probably mill a pc of oak or something for a transition

You putting a door in?

I'd try a section of oak stair tread. Challenge will be not creating a trip hazard.

Saddle threshold will be nice and wide, plus not create a trip hazard. You will need to drill a few holes for screws and plastic anchors, though

Main pex runs for 3 zones are there and not sure the depth.

And it's likely temporary, will be turned back to shop space once house it built.

how about cut the carpet straight . glue some ceramic or porcelain tile as a threshold . if ever you replace the carpet it's fairly easily removed .

I figured. For thin that aluminum piece posted is probably the best option.

I was going to suggest this, but seemed to tall and now needs transition on each side. Could do a tiled "entry" pretty cheap, 3x2 is only 6 tiles...

This... You could even router out one side slightly to give it a level fit. There are tons of threshold options.
