So couple questions
Has it always been this way?
Has it gotten worse over time?

I ask because it’s a common issue for soil to compact and wash out in those areas if the ground was not properly prepared the first time.

If it’s solid

quick easy but not permanent get some bags of asphalt cold patch prep the existing and dump the cold patch and compact it to get the fix you need.

Better cut out 3ft and pour a concrete pad there to transition between the garage and driveway.

It was like that when I bought it nine years ago, I don't think it has gotten any worse. I thought about cutting out the asphalt and pouring some concrete, that would be my last resort. How about grinding the concrete down?

Sure I just did that to mine but for different reasons. Mark the line all the way across where the garage door sits. Get a cupped diamond wheel and a 4.5” grinder and have at it. Seal it with some Thompson’s or sealer of your choice. Extra benefit it increases water flow away from the garage.

Make sure you use a good respirator ! the amount of dust produced is impressive. And it's Silica. very bad for your lungs.

.... and your neighbor's lungs as well, consider a shroud and a Dust Deputy/shop vac combo.

Agree with one of the posts above. Get an angle grinder and diamond cup wheel.

Angle down the edge. Make sure to use a respirator and eye protection and you should be fine. This is the same technique that is used to correct uneven sidewalk slabs.
