I've been looking for some info and answers on an issue I'm having on transmission jack. To be specific it's a Dynamo 2 stage Jack with air.
I bought the jack back in October. Stored it for 5 months. I pulled it out last week to use it to hang a drill press head assembly and what is doing is when you pump the foot pedal, it goes up as it should. But, when you release the pedal the ram goes down about half the distance. So if you pump it again, it will go up but when you release the pedal it will go down again half the distance and it will do this till you reach maximum height which at that rate takes a looooong time. I tried bleeding it till I was blue as per the manual which says to:
a) Remove shipping filler plug and install vented plug
b) Raise to maximum height, engage release valve while pumping foot pedal 15 times.
To bleed 2nd stage you raise it to max height again. Open bleeder screw on top of first ram then exert downward pressure until you see fluid come out and not air.
I called Greg Smith which is the company I bought it from and of course because you only get a 90 day warranty I was given the run-around. What ***** is I never used it till now and doesn't work.
Anyway, They're sending me a seal kit, but do I really want to take this thing apart being it's a brand new jack. Not really. There are no external leaks. My belief is without knowing anything or being an expert on hydraulics, that when I release the foot pedal(the one I use to raise the ram) a vacuum is created that pulls one of the check valves (steel ball and spring) open letting fluid already in the ram come out some. But, not sure if that's really what's happening.
Any help is appreciated and I pologize if this is the wrong area to post this in.
