transporting 4 post lift

I may have the opportunity to purchase a 4 post lift that is assembled and is on castors. I'd rather not dissassemble it to move it, so I'm thinking a flatbed tilt loading tow truck would do the trick - can use the winch to roll the lift on and off the flatbed. It would be a move of about 15 miles to get the lift to my house. Anyone see any problems with this? Any other suggestions that wouldn't involve dissassembly?

Good point! From what I can tell it looks like it will be really close The lift is a hair over 103" wide at the widest point of the frame, and it looks like the bed of the truck is 102". So the footprint of the lift should fit on bed, but I'd have to confirm the measurements.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions! Looks like my plan to have a 4 post lift is going to happen sooner than originally expected. I should soon have a 2 year old Direct Lift Pro Park 8 Plus in the garage. I can hardly wait. :bounce:

Looks like I'll have to dissassemble the lift, but the current owner has kindly offered to help dissassemble and reassemble the lift.

I also am looking at transporting a 4 post lift with caster, preferably on a flat bed car trailer assuming wide enough.

How easy (or hard) is it to move these (in this case a BendPak HD-9) when on casters? We can use a hand winch (come-a-long) for getting in on the trailer, but will need to push it off; using the winch to prevent it from rolling too far or too fast.

push it down the road. It's only 15 miles :bounce:

EDIT: didn't realize this was a resurrected thread...

I know the thread is old, but I'm wondering how this worked out. I need to move my lift ~100miles and don't want to pay to disassemble and reassemble it.

WE drug mine up on a flatbed tow truck without the casters. The large flat metal feet slid on the concrete just fine using the tow winch. A couple guys were able to pull it off the flatbed at the delivery end. We installed the casters to move it around once it was inside the shop, then removed the casters to use the lift.
