Hey guys. Anyone out there do a lot of work outside the garage? I have to take my toolkits with me quite often to fix friends cars and its getting tiresome carrying two craftsman boxes and a small bag for electrical stuff. Im trying to narrow down a selection of tools specifically good for roadside and travel repairs but my big hang up is what kind of box to hold the tools in.

Im thinking about going with either a nice hardshell like a pelican or a large tool bag. I also only own classic cars currently (I don't do a lot of driving so no need for a daily beater) So I'd like something soft that wont hurt my car if it goes flying in the trunk or scratch paint immediately if I drop it on the way out of the car. There is also my affinity for vintage stuff so if anyone has recommendations for cool old boxes or bags that would be awesome.

So:
1. Recommendations for boxes/ bags for travel
2. Tips for organizing in a bag since it doesn't have drawers
3. Show me your travel kits if you have one!!

I have a few of the Ridgid Pro Organizer boxes. Structural foam plastic. Similar to the DeWalt ToughSystem but a bit cheaper. I like them since they can clip together so they're easier to secure in the trunk. The middle-sized box has a removable tool tray for smaller things.
