Hey guys- I help a buddy out with his work once in awhile setting up car dealerships and what we use for tool storage just isn't working. Weight is the biggest factor in traveling with our tools and we have been using duffel type bags to do this. We have tried every heavy canvas bag we can find and it only takes one or two trips to tear it apart. Last time we had a Makita Travel bag and it made it a total of one trip. We carry a scale with us and hit 50 pds every time and end up putting tools in our clothes bags as well. Plastic cases are obviously heavier and are trying to avoid them. "biggest" tool we carry is a 3' level so it needs to be at least that long. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Ryan

Veto Pro Pac XXL I love mine and its not as big but for the heavy hand tools it works amazing. Mine is at least 50lbs with no power tools and it will last. As for the power tools you might need some more suggestions.

What kind of tools, and is wheeled transport an option? Some tool box setups have cart/handtruck like options...

Prefer wheels if possible as we ride a lot of trains and buses depending on where we go and sometimes don't rent a car which means walking to and from the dealerships.

Tools are different for every job but include drills, circular saws, jig saws, and misc hand tools.

We use Pelican.

That's what I was just about to suggest to the OP. Any time I've worked with a crew that did a lot of travel, we utilized Pelican cases for transport and even shipping if our tools were to arrive ahead of us. They're pricey, but in this case, you definitely get what you pay for. These things are damn near indestructible.

How about a Bosch storage system?
