What brand trench drain do you guys recommend? Looked at NDS that Menards sells, but seems really flimsy and cheap. Local supply house carries Josam Pro-Plus, but that came in at $3,100 for just 36'. Polylok looks to make a decent one, but haven't been able to see them in person so it's hard to tell. Would like something durable that I can drive a small forklift over without issue. What are you guys using?

I couldn't make myself do it. Formed up for it myself and then cut a piece of factory floor grate (which was still way too much money and took a bit of my time too). I guess I had $250 in mine. Factory floor grating on say a 6" span is really strong, but you put a concentrated load down on the concrete.
I would be amenable to buying iron grates and forming up my own trench geometry.

Whatever you choose, make sure the direction of the water entering the drain is perpendictular to the drain opening, not as in the NDS drains. The water runs right over the drain. Ask me how I know.

Josam, Smith, Zurn, Wade, etc.. should all cost about the same. ACO may be a little less and it’s reasonably high quality too. They are all a PITA to install and you’ll have to babysit them while concrete is placed. I’m pretty sure using any of these is more cost effective than forming the trenches up in concrete and buying grates and the angle embeds to support them. Make sure what you get is “traffic rated”
I looked at a lot and formed my own up out of 1x4s and 2x2s. Then busted it out after the concrete cured and cut grating for it. I love it and wouldn't have done it any other way. A whole lot cheaper and a whole lot stronger than what I could find on the market. My local concrete supplier had some heavy duty metal ones, I think it was 600 for a 12 foot drain.

Cycling back here, another thread made me realize that haul-master ramps would have been the cheapest grate source for a trench drain that you were willing to form up the concrete yourself (like I did). $80 gets you 12 feet of the narrowest ones, 9 inches wide, and they don't have a raised edge. Pretty ideal if you had the dimensions ahead of time for your forming.
