Any ideas for achieving consistency between the side walls and the surface immediately below it?

We normally dont recommend coating them, its difficult to get it 'right' and just use the epoxy for the walls or a color matched enamel. Thanks!

It's a 6" stub wall. Thinking the best plan is to just apply the epoxy and not try to flake.

Btw - the Xtreme Set 100 is great stuff. Worked really well.

Glad to hear about the Xtreme Set 100!!

Also I apologize, if you want to coat a wall with partial flake I place the flake in the palm of my hand and blow it onto the fresh coating. A little at a time.

I did my "base" first. I literally threw it sideways at the wall, kind of like broadcasting grass seed.

Mine is not a perfect match, some areas are a little heavier than others. But it worked out okay. You waste a lot of flake, so I cleaned the floor good prior to starting, and then sucked it up with the shop-vac and reused it.

Thanks for sharing this - really helps. I'm going with heavy coverage so that might make it easier match.

Definitely a heavier coverage will make it easier to get the walls to match so it won't appear as 'clumpy'.

I used Armorpoxy for my floor and had plenty left over to do the stub walls and wood entrance area to the house. I had read the epoxy doesn’t like vertical surfaces and it’s true. I made it work and to apply the flakes I just put some in the palm of my hand and blew them onto the wall. Worked quite well and it really finished off the look of the garage. If you look close at the stub wall you can tell the epoxy is pretty thin but I’m fine with it. I’ve had the product down for almost a year and I’m very happy with it. I’m considering applying Armorpoxy’s “Military” grade top coat to the floor this fall to cover the flakes better making it easier to clean.
