I started to remove the drawers from a Kennedy lookalike box today but can’t get the drawer slide released. Anyone seen this type before, anyway to release without drilling all the rivets out. 3ABF6AA2-DB43-4C1E-A797-B7A7FFE26825.jpeg14D1342D-E2FA-478D-A60F-09E3D6677F18.jpegABD3EB58-1CA7-44F1-A11D-92C6309C5360.jpegThanks

Pull the drawer out as far as it will come. Slide a piece of shim stock or possibly a hacksaw blade with the teeth ground off into the track. Then push the track in. You may be able to do one side and then the other.

Tried a piece of shimstock today couldn get passed the stop on the drawer. Will cut a hacksaw blade down tomorrow and try a slight bend on the end to slide passed the stop. Only have a 1/4 wide slot to get into.

This is mostly right.
Pull the drawer out as far as it will come. Slide a piece of shim stock or possibly a hacksaw blade with the teeth ground off into the track. Then push the track in. You may be able to do one side and then the other.
When the drawer is out hold the rail and push the drawer back in a couple of inches. The shim has to have a bit if a bend in the end. Slid the shim in past the catch and then pull the drawer out again and the shim will compress the spring catch and allow the stop on the drawer past. The stop on the drawer stop must be on top of the shim to pass the spring that is riveted on.

Thanks guys for the suggestions/tips on the removal. I was headed down the right track, just didn’t go far enough. I guess after 67 years I finally learned to stop and research/ask questions before making more work for myself. The ideal tool for this was a 1/4” wide machinist rule.
