Tried searching for lighting recommendations, please help

Hi there. I'm a newbie here and tried weeding through this site for help on a lighting setup for my new garage. I can't use fluorescent lights because of the cold. My goal is 8' LED lights. I am planning on 10 for my 3 bay 40' x 30' x 12'. 1 light across the front and rear of each bay, and 1 light front to rear between each bay including the far left and right. Fixture has a clip in the middle for supporting the bulb. Made in China, but aren't they all? If anyone has a better suggestion, please help. Thanks in advance, Rune

Fluorescent lamps are fine in the cold IF you specify "cold starts". My shop is full of them and I have no issues with the winkity blinkity at temps below zero.

I think you'll find more options with 4 ft lights. Some even are made to connect end to end.

You can use florescent just fine. I'm way farther north than you (Canadian border), and my garage is unheated, and I've never had any problems with the standard cheap T8 fixtures from Lowes.

The fixtures are $15 and have a cold weather ballast in them:

A 30 pack of bulbs is $55, and they put out 2900 lumens each:

15 fixtures would put out 87,000 lumens at a total cost $280. That's more than double your planned lumens, and 1/3 the cost.

dont use 8' lamps. Get 4' and put them end to end if you can. 8' lamps are a tremendous pain in the ***.
