Looking for some ideas on what to use for my molding around the base of the wall? Drawbacks/ positives of your basic rubber 4 inch high cove base in black. or should I go with some real trim in a 1x4 or 1x3 PVC or wood? if I did what would the drawbacks or positives be for that?
I am thinking about doing a flat black trim or satin but am open to ideas.

garage is 11x38

here it is, and as you can see the footings come up a ways as the garage floor drops away toward the door.

It's really personal preference for the look you're going for. Obviously the commercial base and the PVC traditional base are going to be more moisture resistant than the wood base. I think black would look sharp with your floor and walls.

Rubber Vinyl would be my choice, hands down. It would look more industrial which is appropriate for the garage in my opinion.

I also prefer the rubber base. Easier to wash down. My house came with wood trim already, or I would put this in.

Btw...black will give a nice contrast on your epoxy floors and look great IMO.

did you guys do the epoxy first before applying the rubber/vinyl cove base molding?

if not, what did you do to protect the exposed bottom edge of sheetrock when you had to rinse your floor (doing the etching & so forth)?

while i prefer the vinyl cove molding myself (used on on our last house, it came out great) masking off cove molding to do epoxy after is not something i want to do.
