I have a Porter Cable 314 trim saw that needs a new blade. It takes a 4-1/2" diameter, 3/8/10mm arbor blade. Looking for wood-cutting, but would like to pick up metal, non-ferrous and plastic blades as well. Looking for something NOT made in China.

It came with a Matsushita that is really nice. These are made in Japan, but the website gave me issues. I couldn't send them a message and the phone number seems to be disconnected. Not much on Amazon that fits my criteria, either. I got a bunch of sponsored results and only one Matsushita that was a metal cutting blade.

I could drive from Santa Clarita to Culver City to get one (they don't take phone orders, I need to pick it up), but I'd rather shop as local as possible, or order it online and pick it up at a store. I'm sure LA natives appreciate me not wanting to drive!

I want a nice blade. I'm done using cheap ones. I've used nice ones and there's a difference.

They want $88 for one blade. I've heard good things, though. And, like you say, it can be re-sharpened multiple times, saving money in the long run.

However, I could drive to Culver City and get one for $30. It's about 40 miles away, which is $22 @ $0.55/mile. It's about 2 hours of my time.

I'm surprised these aren't more readily available. I'd like to get wood, aluminum and plastic blades for this saw, preferably at the same time/place.

I was hoping people would chime in with sources. Searching for this blade gets lots of results for sponsored companies that don't sell this particular one.

I found the same blade but with a larger arbor hole in it for $60. I have a filler/shim that came with a diablo blade that lets it work fine in the 314. Appears to be an identical blade, just larger arbor hole.
I am sad the 314 has been discontinued, but at least their are plenty on the used market. Mine is a Rockwell 314 saw, same but with a different name on it. Great saws

Probably this one, right?

I may just buy this and see how it works. I could always use the adapter in a different blade.

EDIT
I just checked it again and this blade is NLA. Sigh... My search continues.

I'm not near my shop now, but I think this is the one I've been using:

Freud D0436X Diablo 4-3/8-Inch 36 Tooth ATB Cordless Trim Saw Blade with 20-Millimeter Arbor and 3/8-Inch Reducer Bushing

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002TUFAO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not Forest quality, but it works well for me, and is cost effective. These are terrific little saws, by the way. I use mine frequently, and recently bought a spare.

This might be another option, although I haven't used it:

Thanks. The first link is the one that is NLA. I'll try searching for something similar; maybe they changed to a new model number.

The 2nd link is for a Chinese-made blade. However, when I was teaching woodshop, I used Tenryu blades and the guy who sharpened my blades said they were really good blades.

Diablo blades are made in Italy, according to their website. So I ordered one for pick-up from Home Depot. $15. I have several Diablo blades and am happy with them.

I found it by searching the Diablo website, then clicking the "buy now" button for Home Depot. I was looking for product in-stock, which is why it wasn't showing up before. It's also a little smaller than 4.5", so I didn't consider it. Duh.

Other than Forrest and Diablo, I can't find anything that fits this saw that isn't made in China.

For metal (this gauge steel), I've used an abrasive blade. Now that I think about it, I've never cut aluminum or plastic with it; I use my table saw.

Thanks for the tip on the Diablo. Don’t have anything else to add accept this is recent purchase. It is the predecessor of the 314. Exceptional quality. One day my boys will have it.

the diablo blades are not bad, especially for the price. If you dont like it, at least you will have the bushing now so the cheaper forrest blade will work.

The Porter Cable made in China blades are not that bad. However if you want better blades, contact CarbideProcessors.com:

These 5 blades are specifically made for the PC 314 saw. The Tenryu blades are really excellent.
I bought two new 314 saws 40 years ago and they are excellent. Just don't use them much anymore due to the dust collection issues so use my Festool and Makita Track Saws most of the time.
Porter Cable was great stuff before Stanley Black and Decker screwed it up.

Did you find this on eBay? I thought i saw this one or one like it there.

I went with the Diablo 36 tooth blade for my PC 314 as well. When i bought mine not to long ago it had a plywood blade on it. Don't think it was dull but it cut like SHT! the Diablo is much much better
