Troffer lights in open ceiling garage?

What would be a safe clearance distance to mount 2 x 4 troffer fixtures away from the bottom of trusses ( heat)? The actual ballast area would be 4-6"
away from the nearest truss & the initial plan was to put them 2-3" down from the truss. They are 2 tube t-8 fixtures. This is not a closed ceiling- garage has open trusses. Suggestions please. Thank You!

I don't think a 2 tube T8 troffer fixture would have enough heat to be an issue. I think you could mount them flush under the truss, but I'd leave at lease an inch just for an air gap just in case.

I would direct mount them
Open ceiling and only 2 tubes. I don't see a problem

Thats right! A direct mount should do the trick..
