Trolley for “half” a W8 beam

My two bay garage is roughly 21’ wide by 26’ deep. The ceiling is about 8’ high, and has a W8 wide flange beam running side to side (from left to right as you look into the bays).

Now, the issue is that when we put a new exercise room on top of the garage (originally designed in the 1950s to support an in-law apartment), our contractor decided to effectively sister an LVL alongside the W8. Both ride in notched CMU block at each end (no center posts). The block itself is filled with grout and overall the structure is very stable (no flexing, bouncing, etc. of the floor or bowing of windows or doors).

Due to the sistering of the LVL and W8, only one flange of the W8 is accessible. I would love to have a trolley up there to hoist very modest weights (300 max max), probably more like 150. Does anyone know of a trolley like device that can ride on a single flange? I can probably have a ridge welded to the flange to act as a stop. Thanks. I don’t have pics available but can upload at some point.

I've never seen such a thing, but I'm sure it could be fabricated. For such low weights, it may be better to weld or clip some unistrut to your beam and use one of the many trolleys available for that stuff.....

I'm with Millwrong, never seen or heard of a single sided trolley before.

I like the Unistrut idea.

Tack some angle iron ^ atop the flange, and run a couple of these on it

You might also want a top limiter so it cant bounce off the rail.

Slaughterhouse rail is often a single track hang as well.

I like the angle iron idea.
But Unistrut stuff may be easier to find.
