I usually ignore trolls. Life is too short to be pulled into such childish, boorish behavior.

This should be mandatory reading for any member on this site....

Hiball's Words 'O Wisdom: Required Reading

"Here is the problem:

1) The HF crowd doesn't like being told that their tools are Junk.

2) The Snap on Crowd doesn't like being told they overpaid on their tools and wasted there money.

3) Both Crowds are Guilty of Trollish comments, End of Discussion.

Solution:

1) Let your tools do the talking for you, Don't try and impress someone with your claim of saving money etc... blah or How your tools are better.

2) If you don't like HF tools or don't want to find out more about them, Stay out of the Harbor Freight Threads.

3) If you don't like Snap on tools or think they are overpriced keep your "Kool-Aid" comments to yourself.

Its really quite simple."

Hiball's words are 100 % on target.

THANK YOU Hiball!

The problem with solution #2 is that lot's of threads that don't start out as HF threads have a way of turning into one in a very short time. I've seen them switch within 2-3 posts. I'm sure it works the other way also. If we could just keep threads on topic it would solve a lot of problems.

I am the one who stickied Hiball's thread, and stated that it was required reading.

I only just recently unstuck it, after a member said we were once again having too many stickies at the top of the forum. I tried to get rid of one or two, that being one of them.

So you've got a classic Datsun wagon as well? I've got a 1984 Maxima wagon... rusty but still runs like a top... the autotragic trans has seen better days though. Basically running an open header now... everything from the front of the cat to the tip was shot... threw a good glasspack on, which has since burned out... I love hauling the mail in that thing... I can tell some others don't like the Mad Max... they roll their windows up... :(

How's your Datsun doing?

Anyhow, I wasn't "trolling" that thread. Well, I was after some guy called me a troll... I picked the idea up and ran with it since that seems to be what he wanted.

All I did originally was throw my suggestions in regarding tool durability and happened to put my opinion in as well... Obviously that's when everyone there went ape ****. :wtf: I had absolutely no intent to make that thread go down like that, until later when it was realized that the thread should just die since so many contaminated it worse than I did, that's when I started "trolling"

To be honest, I did not expect the reactions of the members in that thread to be so ignorant and stupid... :wtf: :shocking: Their ******* got far too twisted and knotted up over a single person's opinion, which can't be healthy for them... how are these guys still alive? They must be wound up tighter than a ******** roll of barbed wire...

I must say, I actually laughed at those that simply couldn't stop... (including myself, but mainly at the other guys that just can't figure out that I was not trying to piss them off, not one bit... and at the lame attacks they made on me)

Geez, then they start trolling their own thread by attacking me... oh well, they really wanted it to go down the crapper anyways... might as well help them... :lol_hitti

I didn't even mention HF or other brands in that thread either until later posts. Everyone just jumped the gun and started to making wild *** conclusions. Serves them right. I wouldn't make a stupid attack on some Snap-On guy posting in a thread of mine simply because he posts his opinion that everything but Snap-On is junk. Fine, that's his opinion... people are entitled to that. Only the idiots will attack someone because of their opinion(s).

Starting right now, I'd say this whole messy fiasco should just be forgotten... except those that decided to/still decide to/will attack a guy who doesn't follow in everyone else's footprints. All I did was counter and roll with the punches. An eye for an eye, I guess. Someone attacks me, I attack them. End of story.

And yes, first thing I read when I stumbled upon this forum was Hiball's Words O' Wisdom... I read that before I even joined. I certainly did the best I could at avoiding conflict in that thread.

Sad that people are like this. Too bad, not my problem.

Trolling is fun.

Besides, I own tons of HF tools so I can call them junk if I want to :lol_hitti

BTW, trolling is also a lot more fun on other forums where political discussions tend to get out of hand anyway. Does get a bit dangerous at times though...

I still like 84 datsuns avatar:drool:

Now as far as trolls go I think it sometimes add some levity to the sites. I've been known to troll thru a few sites just for fun. Those that get P.O.ed probably need to lighten up a bit. :lol_hitti
