Trouble getting good pics on here

I'm having some problems getting nice looking pics to show up in the threads. It always says the size of my file is too large. By the time I get done cropping and lowering the resolution enough to be acceptable on the forum, it's the size of a dime and blurry. Yet I see so many very detailed close up photos here. Anyone know what I could be doing wrong. Trying to share what the wife got me for my b-day.

Upload to imageshack, flickr, or photobucket. All three photo hosts offer free membership.

I used to use imageshack but now use photobucket b/c they make it easier to upload many files at once.

Don't worry, you're not the first to run into this problem - this is a common recurring question on many forums.

Figured it all out guys...thanks for the link. These are my b-day stuff. I think I will exchange the FX80 for the FHX80.

that's a sweet bday present. Where did she get them? ebay?

The open ends look like they have serrations, but the sun is shining on my laptop screen.

I really like the looks of that Cornwell set. Have you used them yet?

Now that you got the picture posting figured out. They can be easily resized in Photobucket to smaller sizes to prevent the bottom scroll bar from appearing. I normally use 640 x 480. the pictures will still look great and will allow all the text and photos to appear on the page without side to side scrolling.

The edit feature will also allow cropping of the photo so the main item can be the same size, but ridding unneeded material.

Even with the 800 x 600 size, I still don't get a scroll bar.

I have the scroll bar right now (in this thread ) even with a wide screen laptop. Is there a way to format the viewing area because I find it a PITA.
