Hello garage journal, Im having trouble uploading pictures, I got a message stating missing security tokens? Has anyone else had this issue? Thanks, chevshack

One of the easiest things to do is open a Photobucket (PB) account or something similar. Once you upload them to PB, all you need to do copy/paste the IMG link.

No problem,that's what we're here for.
PB is free to use but once you get so many pictures postdd or bandwidth use, you'll have to upgrade to a Pro acct. Most people get by with a standard acct.

I have had the problem for quite a few months now finally just switched to photobucket now learning how to transfer them.

The security token was the same message I was getting to it just started all at once cant figure a way around it.

Why do we need to install PB?? Why can't we just copy & Paste a JPEG file? and what is a URL? or IMG link.??

You do not actually install PB. PB is an image hosting site where you store your pictures so that they are available to the Internet.
Images that are on your computer can be posted on this site by using the "attach file" option which is below the text box you are typing the message in. You must be in advanced views to see the "attach file" option.
Copy and pasting a jpg files on your computer does not work because the image must have a valid address that the users on the Internet can enter to reach your image. That would be the url address. Every webpage and pic on the Internet has a unique url address
w w w.garagejournal .com is the url for this site.
When yo do a Google search for images, every one of the images will have a specific url. For example, it might be something like this ...
w w w.garagejournal .com\user1\images\test.jpg
If you go to any website and right click on a picture, you will probably see the option to copy the image location which would be the url of the image. If you copy and paste that url into the Insert Image icon, your message will include that pic. Understand though that some websites do not allow this as it uses up their bandwidth.
See, simple.
In summary, you have three options.
1. Use the attach image option to load a pic that is stored on your computer. This will display the pic as a small attachment.
2. Upload your pics to PB, then copy the image location (url) into the Insert Image Icon
3. Copy the image location from a pic on the Internet and paste that url into the Insert Image option. Pic may not display because the website hosting the pic may not allow hot linking.
It is not hard but does take a little practice to fully understand.

I started having the same issue last week. Prior to that I could upload pics with no problem.

I haven't had any problems uploading pictures to Garage Journal. I suspect that if you are having security token problems, you need to change your security settings in your browser. I can't help you with the settings because I don't know what browser you are using.
