I recently ran across Tru-built.com. They are advertising a 40x60x12, put up for less than $20k. I spoke with a sales man and with some changes I want it's still less than 25k. One of those things that seems too good to be true. Can anyone provide some personal experience or pros/cons?

Does that include concrete foundation, or just a slab?

I have followed back up with the salesman this morning, but I don't think it included any concrete.

Then I think they are somewhat in line with others, obviously geographic dependent, and also fluctuating steel prices unless they have them in stock.

I would think you are looking at about 10-15K in concrete work too.

The 30x40x10 is $19,995 on sale and includes concrete. I doubt the 40x60 includes it.

Are they full depth footings, or are these slab on grade buildings? Would need some specifics

That seems a really good price!

Concrete is not included in the 40*60 quote, but he quoted me a 4" slab for 9840

Thats about 340 cy/installed.

Might shop around and see if you can find cheaper, but seams reasonable.

Is this a pole barn or a steel building?

How is the subgrade/soils for a slab on grade building?

What area are you in?

Yeah, thats high. Actually talked to a concrete guy other day and he quoted $125 cu/yd plus $.60 sf for finishing. Im in western Kentucky.

I recently bought about 9.5 acres with plans to build a home. Considering finishing a portion of the shop for temporary living quarters, but also have about $10k budgeted for dirt work/site prep, per a couple quotes i got from contractors before I bought the land, which included site prep for residence, shop and driveway.

At that price, I would pour a proper foundation wall too, insulated and everything.
