Guys ,I just wanted to make a statement on truck tool boxes. You know the crossover type we all love. I picked up a nice used rki box that Is great ,I just have one issue that drives me crazy.Excessive holes drilled..

When it comes time to install please just one hole a side and use j bolts,no need to double bolt it through the bed rails. Trust me it will hold fine and be a cleaner install.

I'm not too worried about the number of holes. The one I jump up and down about is that they can all be opened by the same 5 or 6 keys. A word of advice: Go to the locksmith and get a different lock that is not a standard one.

If you don't believe me.... go try to unlock your buddy's tool box.

i alway bolt a piece of angle iron on inside of bed, about 1/4 inch higher that the bed rail. I bolt the toolbox to this. that way water, dirt, trash doesnt destroy the bed rail

Brownbagg I have seen this done(it's been a long time though). It is a good way. All the big farmers with 3/4 tons had them this way when I was a kid. Back then the more lights you could mount on them the better! Brings back memory's.
