My brother bought a truck with a tool box without a key. He moved the box to the ground then removed the lock so he could order a replacement when his girlfriend closed the top so she could sit.

I believe I saw a weather guard signage once when the box was open, but other than cutting a hole in the back or bottom, WTF to do?! Crazy

If the lock was removed, whatever latch mechanism it was attached had to shed be accessible through the hole. A flashlight and a few grabby tools should open it.
e.

Or pushy tools if it was a push to open box.

So there's no lock but it won't open ? Does it still have the latch in it ?

Some Weatherguard tool boxes has a push button / lock mechanism to open. When it is daylight outside I will try to get pictures of the mechanism as I have this style box on my work truck.

That is really funny. An inspection camera for cylinders and such would show you the inside. I'm not sure whether one of the box parts stores "rents" these for free or not.
