Although expensive I want a tile that prevents water from getting underneath. A friend has Race Deck and water gets trapped underneath. Anybody use this tile?

Hmm? " water gets trapped underneath"? not possible as RaceDeck's patent design is a full-suspension flooring that has 1/2" tall channels underneath allowing water and air to circulate freely. Unless your concrete floor was 100% poured correctly and then sealed 100% properly, you will have moisture that needs to escape from the concrete, which can act like a sponge. putting a flat vinyl mat on top throughout your garage could lead to serious mold and odor issues.
With that said, if your concrete floor is not flat and has bird baths that collect water, then you will get puddles. You also will have all of the above issues I mentioned above.

There are a lot of great products out there, and different products have their strong points and their weakness. Obviously any of us that sell a product, want to sell product, but the truth is it needs to be about finding the best product for your needs.

First, if you send me your information via PM I am happy to send you some samples so you can have a clearer understanding of how the TrueLock product deals with the issues Jorgen addressed.

Its important to understand that Polypropelene tiles, of which I sell many, are designed to leak. PVC tiles are designed to protect the substrate below and provide you with a floor that is quiet and relatively solid. They are not 'water tight' with a couple of exceptions such as the TuffSeal product, which, for the sole purpose of water tight is overkill for many homeowners. TrueLock PVC tiles have a vert tight lock and it takes significant time and effort to get water to wick through.

The downside to ANY PVC tile, is just like a PVC mat, under the right (or wrong) circumstances it can stain. Its an issue that is easily addressed but it is an issue.

We have a lot of commercial and industrial clients use the PVC for applications that are not suited for polypropylene tiles. There are also a lot of case where Polypropylene is a good fit. I just don't believe a single type of tile can meet everyone's needs. Get some samples as that will help make your decision easier.
