I'd say the one on eBay has the decimal point in the wrong spot. It looks like a good hammer but I don't see a ton of collector value in it.

Eprey "Buy it now" prices are generally a fantasy of the sellers. If they get the fantasy price regularly, I suspect they are doing some money laundering...

On th eebay pics, I don't see the name, True Temper, stamped on the steel head. It only appears on the wood handle along with the True Temper name. Also, the head still has the forging marks on it. I suspect this was a cheaper version of the True temper hammer. The True Temper hammers I have seen were all nicely polished, as is the TT hatchet I have. The working ends of the ebay hammer are in excellent shape and it would be a fine working hammer, but I don't see any collectibility in it to justufy the high price. The price ($8) you paid for yours sounds fair to me. Also the person who sold it to you probably knows the value of his merchandise.

I have a few older true tempers all great hammers just never seen this one and was wondering how rare or collectible it is but seems just another good hammer to the collection.
