I bought a Craftsman 113.29940 with SawStop fence and extentions. The blade will not set to 90*. More like 89*. I have adjusted the stops, but it was no help. I realised that the pulley is contacting the table. The pulley will only go so far and stops on the arbor. It the arbor tapered? Im thinking if I can get the pulley closer to the arbor housing it will miss the webing that it is hitting and I can set to 90*. I may have to do some grinding on the underside of the table still, but its a start.
Any reason this wont work?

I have searched online and hear about lots of people having the same issues, but no fixes.

It sounds like you have to take the table to a machine shop and have them machine the underside just enough for the blade to adjust, the only problem is how much will it cost? I would think by the time they could fix the problem you could have bought another saw.

No, because it wont help. Im trying to make the blade stand up. There is no issue with the trunnions. I have done everything on page 5 and 6 with no luck.

BTW, the pulley goes flush to the end of the arbor shaft and no further. Thats why im asking if it would be tapered.

Thanks

Im pretty sure I can grind it some, but I think if the pulley is closer to the arbor housing it will need no material removed. There is about 1.5 inches of space on the arbor shaft between the housing and pulley and the webbing of the table is about 1/4" or less off.

Got it. I was thinking alignment in terms of twist, you are talking tilt. Yes I would go (gently) with a grinder. Another thought, is there enough meat on the pulley to turn it and reduce diameter a bit? Or even use a smaller pulley?

I'm having some trouble with the PDF freezing up when I scroll down a page. Is the trunnion assembly mounted to the table or the cabinet on this saw?

If the former, maybe try shimming the the attachment points for more clearance. You might only need to shim one side.

Or shim the table itself if the trunnions are mounted to the cabinet.
