I've had a 12 lb. Woodings Verona splitting maul that's been used as both a maul and sledge around the house for years now. That thing is seriously heavy though (especially if needed for more than a few good whacks!) so I bought an 8lb. Husky sledge hammer from HD today. All of their sledges are stamped with Mexico as the COO and I was curious if anyone here knew if they are made for HD by Truper. Years ago, when I did a lot of landscaping as a side job, I always found Truper brand shovels, picks, rakes etc. to be of good quality. Most of my yard tools that are used today are original Truper tools from 10-12 years ago and aside from the occasional broken handle, they are as good now as they were then. I should have possibly taken the time to shop around for a Truper branded sledge (just to be sure) but it was somewhat of an impulse buy while in HD looking for something else.
