Hi Guys
Just installed trusses and thought I'd circle back around with an update. I can't use the H1 ties. As I suspected, they would cover the nail plates where the top and bottom chord are attached so would be spread too wide. (I bought one to try and it was virtually impossible to get on.)
I tried to find ties that had an opening of 1 5/8 like the 10S, but no-one carries them locally. If finally decided on the H2.5T as they are pairs that can be installed on the same side of the top plate. Will use in conjunction with H2.5A (see below).
Found the attached very interesting doc from Simpson called "Building Roof-to-Wall
Continuous Load Path Connections". It describes issues installing ties on INSIDE of structure. Seems I could have installed over sheathing after all, but I left my shaething 1/2-inch short of top of 2nd top plate (see figure 2 in attached).
So I've opted for figure 3 in attached. This is exactly my case, so if the inspector has any issues, I have something to refer him to.
Hope someone, now or in the future, finds it useful/interesting.
Regards
