Trusscore pricing

Hi Guys,

Looking at alternative wall paneling to save on install time, finishing, and added durability, etc.

Trusscore seems to be about perfect but I'm having a hard time finding any pricing on it. If it's more expensive than it would cost to just hire someone to drywall and paint it, then obviously it's a no go. But if it saves me money and I can DIY pretty simply it would be appealing. Just wondering if anyone can share if they've priced it out before.

From what I understand, this is a PVC material?

What's the burn rating compared to 5/8 drywall?

I would be worried about sparks sticking to it

Won't be any welding or grinding done in this garage. That said, PVC would need some pretty high sustained temperatures to ignite anything. It would likely melt little holes in those circumstances so it's probably not a great use case for welding or grinding in close proximity. Just leaving unsightly little holes or burns. But that's not my use case anyway.

I was inquiring for my use. Lol.

Burn rating is important for everyone. Especially on attached garages. I know of more than one house fire that started in the attached garage.

As soon as all the fuels stored in the garage start going off, the tires grow rapidly..

Fire-resistance​

If a fire-rated wall assembly is specified by code, Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard must be installed on top of a fire-rated wall or ceiling assembly. Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard does not meet the requirements for fire resistance where a building code calls for the installation of a fire-rated assembly. It is, however, possible to install Wall&CeilingBoard overtop of a product such as cement board or drywall that meets those requirements and thereby achieves code requirements. When specified, the joints and fastener heads of the fire-rated wall assemblies should be finished per the manufacturer’s recommendations and test specifications. Which can include taping and mudding joints to a Level 1 finish and covering fastener heads or using products like mudless fire tape as a finishing component for fire-rated assemblies approved and listed to ASTM E119, Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials or CAN/ULC S101, Standard Methods of Fire Endurance Test of Building Construction and Materials for use in the United States and Canada.

Note: The above requirements also apply to wall assemblies that require a thermal barrier, including those wall assemblies that make use of plastic foam insulation products. Trusscore Wall&CeilingBoard must be installed on top of a rated thermal barrier wall or ceiling assembly as per applicable building code requirements.

So it has to be installed over drywall anyway

Only on shared walls for attached garages. You can drywall the entire shared wall in the attic space/gable and hang whatever you want on the ceiling and other 3 walls. This is not new. Detached garages wouldn't require anything.

Also, I'm planning an addition, shared interior walls are already covered in sheetrock. I'm asking about pricing. If you have other questions can you not completely hijack my post?

A 16" x 8' piece is $27, which is approx $2.50/sqft.
Compared to a 4x8 sheet of drywall, its $80 per sheet.
Well that pretty much settles that lol. Drywall is $10 a sheet at Menards, so, roughly 8x the price. Have to imagine you could easily hire the whole thing out and still be well under DIY Trusscore. Last time I priced out that labor it was pretty reasonable.
