trusses on 4' ceiling material

I am building my garage I put trusses 4' on centers with 2x4 perlins every 2' for the tin roof my friend put up sheet rock and he said will sag with sheet rock since it is on 4' centers, I may have to put tin ceilings, is there any other way. I am going to spray foam ceiling for insulation. thanks Ray my garage is 33x38 with 10' ceilings

Sure....use metal for the ceiling.

Either make it a cross section that will span the 4' or use wood stringers running across the trusses spaced so they support the metal.

Anything heavier, check if your truss was designed to support it and the additional framing you will need.

As bczygan said, whether the trusses can support the necessary weight for drywall is an issue, not just getting drywall to do a 4' span. You'll need to figure this out first.

Tin is definitely going to be easiest. I think run perpendicular to the trusses, you won't need any additional support (due to the ribs) and it will hold up blown-in insulation just fine.

Sheetrock will sag if only fastened every 4'. As was mentioned go with steel panel liner it is a little lighter weight that the steel you put on the outside and a little cheaper, but it is designed to be fastened every 4' and to carry a certain insulation load.
