Look at the Menard's web site for reference. They show 30' 4/12 residential trusses from $70-$108 depending on snow load rating and Post frame trusses from $152-$193.

They also have specs listed

I got quoted $115 each. And those were for a 32' wide building with 2' overhangs all around. Also designed to be strong enough to hold up a ceiling and blow in insulation. I was just wondering how this compared to everyone else's. They will be on 2' centres.

sounds about right depending on the style.anything outside of the standard W truss and price goes up considerably.

26 footers $80 including tax. Some are modified because of 4 foot soffit on one end. I live in a small town but we do have a company that builds them here.

WOW!!!

I was quoted $8500 for (26) 50 foot 5/12 slope trusses! That's $327 each....

That included delivery, and crane/operator to spread them.

This is Alaska, but they would be manufactured 10 miles down the road.

A bit on the high side?

I'd say that wasl high, even for Alaska. Mine were 32' 5/12 standard trusses with 2' overhang 24" OC and they were just under $1700 delivered. They included an hour of crane time but I didn't use it. I built everything on the ground and stood it up all at once with a different crane truck.

I don't know what exactly the lumber situation in Alaska is, but anywhere in the 48 lower that would be a rip off.

Did you try just asking them?

Mine are 36' 8/12 vaulted with a 2' overhang. My trusses are old - like 20 years old - but I priced replacements at Menards a year ago (thinking to double some up for strength) and they wanted around $185 each.

FWIW, I find Menards to be a good 'sanity check' on pricing for stuff like this. You might get it a buck or two cheaper if you shop around long enough and get lucky, but you will never get 'taken' at Menards. That's good enough for me.

You really can not get a fair comparison from anyone , trusses are designed for each state , location and code requirements and prices are predicated on those factors.
Like trusses for the area I live in are designed for heavy , heavy snow loads but the guy in N.C would have nothing even close to what we need.
As you can tell , the prices are all over the place.
If you want a true cost , call a truss company where you live.

Big difference between 32' material only, and 50' installed.

Exactly. Just looking at Menard's site, a 50' 4/12 post frame truss is $312. Going 5/12 will add to the cost, as well as the labor.

And I'm sure a truss in Alaska has a higher snow load rating than Indiana, which will also increase the cost. Doesn't sound like the price was too out of line.

I was quoted $127 for 40' 4/12 pitch on 4' centers with 12" overhang for my pole barn, and $153 a piece for the same as scissor trusses.

I think I paid about $40 for a 24' 4/12 truss back in '04 when I built the house garage. I say 40 but for some reason, I think they were cheaper than that. They were just a stock truss that almost everybody carries around here.

Seems my quote is well in line, if not maybe a bit on the cheap side for where I live. (8 hours south of Alaska)

These companies are hungry right now. Tell them you got a quote for less and match or beat it.

Remember, we live where the lumber is grown and milled.
