Well, I was hoping these flat-flat hammers would show up in time for my birthday (this month) but that doesn't look like that's going to happen. I'm looking forward to the release of these hammers so keep us informed.

Well, I was hoping these flat-flat hammers would show up in time for my birthday (this month) but that doesn't look like that's going to happen. I'm looking forward to the release of these hammers so keep us informed.

Cut from another thread

I will make a general post tomorrow with a schedule for making and shipping the stubby hammers.

The stubby ball peen will be available in red pretty quickly, followed blue and then green, as of right now.

The flat-flat stubbies are still several weeks out (need to make parts for the heads).

The post tomorrow will also include an option to pre-order the hammers in different colors.

Several GJ forum members have asked to place orders in advance of the hammers being available.

I want to thank everybody for their patience and their interest in these new hammers.

Trusty-Cook Stubby 1 & 2
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=319215&page=3

Edit to add

20% off List Price

We are ready to begin taking orders for the new ball peen, dubbed the “Stubby” by forum members, and the new Stubby Flat-Flat hammer. Dimensions and pricing are below.

Ball Peen: 2.70 lbs, head, 2.00 lbs, 10.25" X 5.00" X 1.75"

Flat-Flat: 2.75 lbs head, 2.05 lbs 10.25" X 4.75" X 1.75"

Stubby Ball Peen List Price: $54
Stubby Flat-Flat List Price: $56

We are offering these two new hammers to forum members before we add the product to our website and make a general announcement.

Both hammers in all colors will not be available immediately.

We will be making stubby ball peens in red next week, and these hammers should ship the following week.

General availability of the Flat-Flat hammer will be April.

Some forum members have asked about placing orders before the hammers are ready to ship.

This requests works for us if it works for you.

The schedule below is a rough timeline for manufacturing and shipping the stubby ball peens.

Red Stubby Ball Peen: manufacture week of 02-14-16 and ship week of 02-21-16

Blue Stubby Ball Peen: manufacture week of 02-21-16 and ship week of 02-28-16

Green Stubby Ball Peen: manufacture week of 02-28-16 and ship week of 03-06-16

Again, we expect general availability of the Stubby Flat-Flat to be the beginning of April. This is a conservative estimate on our part (we do have some parts now to make the hammers, but not too many).

If you wish to place an order for these new hammers, please send a PM to us. A 20% discount to the list price of these hammers applies, and any order of $70 or more is eligible for free shipping. Feel free to add other branded hammers or blems to your orders. Some of you might not know that green, Trusty-Cook brand ball peens are a standard offering now.

I will make updates to the post if timelines change (blue & green might flip-flop).

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure that I've posted this photo in the past. Doesn't the Mini Max look like a little beast?

Nice! You guys are gonna kill us aren't you?

Richard, any possibility ya'll could stand both a regular Model 7 and the Mini Max up with their heads side by side? Looking at Strouty's blue hammer pics I can tell the Model 14 head is bigger than the Model 7, but there's no good way to see the difference in the size of the strike face. Putting the heads together in a pic would likely seal the deal for me. :rocker:

Here's a couple of photos of the Mini Max & the Model 7. The Mini Max is 3.95 lbs heavier than the Model 7. We've never had the Mini Max available as a general offering. We've sold a few under a private label or two over the years. This morning, the nephew of the owners was telling me that he's going to be making a Mini Max with a Buddy Blaster sledge head--and keep it for his own personal use.

Nice!

Thanks for the pictures Richard. The Mini-Max is going to be quite a beast. The Model 7 already makes me chuckle any time I pull it out. Can't imagine how fun it'll be to use a Mini Max.

Go ahead and count on my order once ya'll get them in production.
Looking forward to the larger flat/flat series as well.

a double double with brass and steel would be sweet, or brass and dead blow.

This is the beast. It's a Mini Max made with the Buddy Blaster sledge canister. It weighs 10.7 pounds, nearly double the weight of the Model #7. For serious use only!

In for one in blue if they go for sale :rocker:

It is very unlikely the Buddy Blaster Mini Max will be a general product offering. The nephew of the owners knows how to weld and was determined to make a Buddy Blaster Mini Max for himself. A forum member seems to enjoy the occasional "hammer tease"--hence the post.

If Strouty does not get a sampling of this hammer, I think GJ might boycott TC. Hasn't he spent enough to almost be part owner of the company?

Now this certainly can't be called a "hammer tease." It has dead blow action, and it can be used to bash by itself or as a "dead blow-dead blow extender." We have molds for two different lengths. Might be good for tight spaces?

How long will the gj discount for these hammers apply?

I've gotta budget for a month or so. Snow geese in SD, 2nd week of March again. Upcoming good chewin' is preventing immediate ordering unfortunately. No plug always increases shell count, dramatically.

Is that hammer red and green mixed together? It looks like the handle has some green in it.

Whoah, I've never seen a tool like that before. Very intriguing. Precision targeted deadblow action. "Dead-eye Precision Target Deadblow Tool"

Also cool handle on that hammer. Half Green.

We'll call this a "prototype" right now. Perhaps we'll get a prototype or two in the hands of GJ members before general release?

Our creative side has been re-energized by a video of a hammer powered by a "red uranium battery."

Sorry guys, This one is mine... We are working on a part number now. Next time we run white we might make a few. Even though I enjoy having the only one ever made. MUWAHAHAHA. It's going into the Jeep. I'm sure we can find a use for it on the trail.

The Buddy Blaster is named after Nick’s dad, Buddy Trusty. Buddy was a motorsports enthusiast. Buddy passed away while racing a side-by-side back in August, 2011. If you knew Buddy, you’d agree that our most heavy duty hammer has an appropriate name.

Nick, as demonstrated by his post, has a few issues. He can only discuss two topics: things with motors and guns. In fact, the only thing he’s sees in and can comment on in this old advertisement is the welds on the custom bike.

Can anybody suggest some therapy for Nick?

Sorry for being childish for my last post guys. Yes like you guys I love motors. I love working on motors. I love tools. I love Gun's. I love dirt bikes. I love jeeps. I know the guy that built the bike in the advertisement above. The welds are on point. Trust me. We are going to test the buddy blaster mini max and we may or may not make them. Who knows...

I love it when manufacturers and designers of the tools and toys we love get involved here. It's always cool to get the inside knowledge where appropriate. Don't worry, both you and Nick are in good company. Many of us here are similarly afflicted.
