Is it me or does this hammer have a purple hue?

Welcome to the GJ Nick..

It's probably more of the light. My distinction between colors is pretty poor, though. When we first started running blue, the hammers came out a bit purple-ish. It took us some time to dial in the blue color. I was hoping to find some of these "color blems" but no luck.

I love it when manufacturers and designers of the tools and toys we love get involved here. It's always cool to get the inside knowledge where appropriate. Don't worry, both you and Nick are in good company. Many of us here are similarly afflicted.

RedWrench60.. totally agree.. I believe I've seen similar threads from some others.. but nothing the likes of which we're enjoying from T/C..

Others: are there other threads like this one where tool / equipment folks are interacting with the GJ community?

Astro_Pneumatic_Tools is on here and is responsive / helpful. I was unsure if a AP disc brake kit I was going to buy had an adaptor for my car, and they PM'd me to say that they believe that it did but if not just message them and they'd send out one that did.

Also shanetoolnut from ToolNut which is not a manufacturer but an online tool store. He's also been responsive and helpful. Shane was giving GJ early access / notification of some of the deals TN was running and keeping us in the loop / helping when people had shipping problems. He also very quickly handled a problem I had with a pair of Blaklader pants I bought from them. I just sent him a PM and he handled it with Blaklader and I got a return label.

KC Tools in addition has a few people on here who I think all their usenames start with KC_. They were keeping us updated on the order status from the black friday deals and letting people know if their order was going to be delayed from a back ordered item.

Oh and also Epstein's! Jori is obviously on here a lot posting and updating people helping to coordinate the GJ manufacturer days with HJE.

SK_Eric as well posts sometimes when people have questions or issues with SK stuff.

I don't know of any other company who has quite as much of a presence on here as Trusty Cook though. The fact that they are letting us in on the design process and really being a part of the community is very unique and special.

The Buddy Blaster is named after Nick’s dad, Buddy Trusty. Buddy was a motorsports enthusiast. Buddy passed away while racing a side-by-side back in August, 2011. If you knew Buddy, you’d agree that our most heavy duty hammer has an appropriate name.

Nick, as demonstrated by his post, has a few issues. He can only discuss two topics: things with motors and guns. In fact, the only thing he’s sees in and can comment on in this old advertisement is the welds on the custom bike.

Can anybody suggest some therapy for Nick?

I suggest that Nick make more hammers as occupational therapy. Uh, now that you mention it, is there anything worth discussing that doesn't involve engines and guns? :bounce:

Are either of you (Richard or Nick) going to IMTS this year? If so, I'll see you there.

It unfortunately doesn't. I want purple hammers with yellow print (to match my Jeep). When we first ran the blue we had issues with the color and it was very purple. It was awesome! And thanks for the welcome! I will continue to fight for the purple hammers! Lol

I, unfortunately, don't get to go to IMTS. I did when I was in machine tool school but, I no longer get to go. Someone has to make hush tubes. Haha. And yes before you ask I don't actually make hammers, I make another product (hush tubes) but like to experiment on the side.

Any chance you have any of the first blue ones that are purple? If so can you post up some pictures?

There were only a couple before we figured it out. Our print guy, Jimmy, might have one laying around. I'll check tomorrow.

How far are you guys from from the Speedway? And can we come and get a hammer direct from the factory? I'll be there for the 100th running of the 500 in May and would love to get a quick tour as long as it doesn't inconvenience your operation, Ed.

I was browsing your site, Your ball peen hammers PN's don't match their weight.

TrustyCook Ball Peen Hammers

Is that a mistake or on purpose? Example: Your 36oz pn says it's TCBP24 and your 47oz pn says it's TCBP36

I thought your hammers look familiar, I'm a Matco fan and then I saw that they rebadge your hammers :)

We're about 20 miles from the Speedway. We have an Indy mailing address but are in Lawrence on the eastside of the city.

Cut from previous thread

I have also seen some confusion on hammer weights, particularly the Ball peens, the Part Number for our brand ends with the HEAD WEIGHT (not total weight) - example TCBP16 (head weight is 16 oz and total weight is 26 oz.) We did this years ago to comply to GSA (Military/Gov't) Contract Standards/Specs. Confusing I know, but the weights are accurate on our brand.

Do they have nupla make the handle for the first one? I love nupla hammers and nupla makes specialty components for towers too.

Now this certainly can't be called a "hammer tease." It has dead blow action, and it can be used to bash by itself or as a "dead blow-dead blow extender." We have molds for two different lengths. Might be good for tight spaces?

Somehow I missed this post.. I can see tons of uses for this.. My daughter in law had run into a post and pushed a dent in her Geo bumper.. I couldn't get a piece of wood in there but I'd bet that would have been perfect to push it out with....: IS there some thought of stocking it?

This is in development. We need feedback. If a person or two that ordered stubbies gets one of these with their stubby order, we'd love feedback. I was showing a man and a woman visiting the plant (wink) the components earlier today. Bummer, though, we were not happy with what came out of the mold this afternoon.

Whoah cool. Secret prototypes! I guess Strouty must have given some valuable feedback on the super hammer that you want to continue the trend.

So what's the target release date on the flat flat series? Are they out or are Buck's hammers just a sample?

Shameless plug: my birthday was last month but the Wife still wants to get me something.

The long handle flat flats are still a month or so out, there was enough flats to do some stubbies, not sure if they are still taking orders or if enough material is there to make more.
I will also add the smaller flat is nice and small, another thing I have discovered fondling them tonight...:eyecrazy::lol:

We have a small number of the stubby ball peens and flat-flats available right now. Production did a great job with the parts they had to make the stubby hammers for the pre-orders. We've done a few things recently to get more parts made for the ball peens/flat-flats. General availability of the flat-flats in our standard sizes of ball peens is this summer.

I'm pretty confident that theSoceress will be getting things set up so forum members can process any order on our website, including blems.

What's the head weight of the stubby flat-flats? I can't quite make it out in Buck's pic.

43 is in the model number iirc, but for some reason I want to say 32oz, and the hammers are out in the garage... and its 3F....

Awesome guys, thanks. I must have missed it somewhere along the way but since these aren't on the website what's the double secret handshake so I can order a stubby flat flat? :)
