We have some brown pigment we use for a wear shoe customer. (Another name for a wear shoe is a poop shoe. I'd call poop something different but I might get banned from the forum.)

We were pouring brown wear shoes recently and poured a couple of brown hammers. Somebody around here was afraid his hammers would wander out of his department, and he wanted an easy way to spot the thief.

Any thoughts on brown hammers? When white hammers appeared, we heard a couple of comments about the white showing too much dirt. There wouldn't be any such problem with the brown hammers.

I would choose a lighter color as a first choice. BUT - would definately use a POO POUNDER if you want to get rid of the few you made.

Wow those are ugly...

Great tool, terrible color choice (other than for identification)

Do orange. I’d have to buy a second set to match my Matco and westling machine socket rails.

Love the color, love the story behind the color! I would buy these in a heartbeat, my green hammers are mostly black by now, anyway.

I don't care for it at all.

Then again I am in love with my whites and my blues.

The brown would certainly hide the grease and stains from the working environments. I am willing to bet someone would like to own that color. I am waiting for either glow in the dark or invisible. I would totally act as a reseller for the invisible ones, I hear that the shipping costs would be minimal and production costs would also be low. I bet we could sell them for $10 and still make a killing on them. If you want to contact me, I have put all my info below, I used the same invisible color that I propose we use for the hammers.

I like the brown hammers but I don't know that I would buy one. Probably because I don't need any more hammers at this point. However, if I ever broke an existing hammer and needed to buy a replacement, I would certainly consider brown. But then again, I would probably just buy blue (if available) to match some of the other hammers that I've bought from TC.

I suspect you could find buyers for just about any color imaginable.... although obviously some colors will sell better than others. I do appreciate TC offering a range of colors that aren't normally available anywhere else. I also appreciate TC making quality tools here in the USA. :rocker:

How does one go about buying a special colored hammer from you guys?

Doing a special color is not easy to do. We don't do any mixing ourselves. We purchase an available pigment, and we add this pigment to the urethane. We can't do a color if there isn't a pigment for it. Adding a new color has to make sense. The different colors we've offered up the past couple of years were the results of customer inquiries. For example, we had some requests from several parties about orange hammers. we did some experimenting, and we are now selling thousands of orange hammers to a customer that was never part of the original discussions.

I think you should sell those to the Army, tactical earth tone hammers:dunno:

A lite tan would also be nice.

Thanks for making great hammers and posting here!!!!

What color does the urethane start out as without the pigment? A clear hammer would be awesome, if thats even possible?
