Okay, everybody. I made a similar post in the past, and now it is time for me to solicit ideas again. We're getting some new production equipment, and we'll be able to add another color or two to our line. Yes, this gets back to that pot thing I've mentioned in another post or two. I'm not a production person, so the pot thing doesn't mean much to me--other than it limits our colors.

Anybody want to see a hammer of a different color? No, this isn't Oz, and I'm not talking horses.

Feel free to take a few minutes and let me know what new color you'd like to see. Pink has been mentioned several times, and we are considering this color. Do you have any other colors in mind? Why do you think this color would be a good color for a dead blow hammer? The why is important.

Any discussion on this topic would be great.

Thanks.

Personally, I like the idea of pink. I would think you could charge more and donate the extra to a breast cancer foundation.

I'd certainly pay more for one and couldn't care less if anybody joked about the color.

Thanks for the feedback. I haven't heard any jokes about pink. It seems to be high on the list of Forum members for a new color.

I like option of green all the time. Keeps mine separate from someone else's red hammers. I also like the high visibility of the green you've done before. I'd also be ok with yellow for the same reason. ...plus both colors also go pretty good with my John Deere tool box.

My vote for a new full time color is green or yellow for as clifton mentioned for high visibility. For special times pink seems like a unique idea, blue for those of us who missed the blue special. :D

I'd vote for yellow. Not only because I like it as a color, but it's nice to be able to pick my stuff out of a pile of parts or in the back of a truck / around the shop relativly easy, and yellow tools make that easier.

I think high vis colors (orange, yellow, green) would sell good. Easy to spot, plus someone could put a safety spin on it. For guys dealing with OSHA and safety plans on a daily basis, it's little things like these that can make a difference.

Personally I'd like an all black model. No reason other than it's my favorite color. The more I think about this, it may be a bad idea or a really funny one. Construction guys have pretty "creative" minds and I can already hear about a dozen different jokes. This probably means black won't make the list. :(

A last option might be some sort of an "American" theme. I could see the blue w/ white stars on the metal. Maybe have a red rubber handle. Just a thought. The American Hammer.

Multicam! That way I can lose my hammers and not work like the hi-viz guys who posted above me. :)

I was imagining something like that. More along the lines of pour a bucket of red, white and blue together and somehow make a swirly patriotic hammer. Problem is I seriously doubt it would be feasible with their filler machine.(or mixer even)

OH GOOD LAWD.

I mentioned purple before sort of got a probably not as an answer. I know I would be in for some purple. Might be in for few of the pink too just to be different.

I think plastic is "clear" in it's natural state. The color is added during the process. I would guess clear or translucent is very feasible. That would be about impossible to find in a low light environment or even if it's sitting in a very crowded area (for those that work professionally with them).

We had a round or two of Buddy Blasters that were basically clear. They certainly were different. We then added the pigment for the current color.

Would be a cool unique idea for a quick promo. Just get an employee to accidentally forget to add pigment to a small batch. :lol_hitti

Seriously, I would ****** a clear because I love to see how stuff works.

What I would do is offer limited runs of colors and see what sells the best. As far as colors, I would like to see purple, the clear sounds cool.

Black would be nice because it would never show the grease, I think a dark purple would work as well.

If you wanted a super special hammer, try doing weird swirls, my guess is no hammer would ever be the same.

It would be impossible to make them the same, each would be unique! Which means you would have to buy every single one because each is...unique. We all know you love unique hammers.

Another vote for pink here. My wife had breast cancer, and pink makes a strong statement.

As for other colors, is there any way to make a two-tone hammer? Just wondering. Black partway up the handle where you grab it, then a different color the rest of the way.

Thanks for the feedback! Keep it coming. We'd tossed around a copper color, a brass color, and a chrome color. Any thoughts?

So gold, brown, and shiny? I personally wouldn't be interested in those colors, but glow in the dark, black, purple, or clear (clear) would be awesome!

Purple came up with the nephew of the owners. Normally all he wants to talk about are guns and jeeps, things with diesel engines. He did answer my question about colors and gave purple a big thumbs up.

Speaking of colors, how about steel faced sledge hammers?

Same here. I also submitted an idea for a stubby steel faced "drilling" hammer not too long ago and hope that idea would pick up some steam. You know how we always run into confined space where we can only swing so much. A stubby 3lb steel faced deadblow would do quite some work with limited input by the user.

As for the original topic, why not offer your products in red, white and blue colors full-time? Keep all of them available to show your pride in making them in the ol' America! :rocker:

However, if you are asking for an 'exotic' color, then my pick would be pink. I also think it would be great idea if you setup this one as in support for breast cancer awareness and donate a portion to appropriate charity(ies)

Pink for the breast cancer thing is a terrific idea and would stoke potential contributions and tithing from all of us (and your regular customers) for the ongoing search for the cure... October is BCAM.... so we can wait for hot pink until then.. (or glow in the dark pink). I can see someone talking various TC distributors getting into this too Cummins / Fleetguard made banks out of filter canisters and painted them pink for breast cancer awareness month fund raising.. and they flew off the shelves....and we raised beaucoup money for that cause. I paid $20 each for the ones pictured below for that cause..

I missed the blue hammers and would buy a couple of them.

If you guys could figure out how to make two color hammers (head old gold and handle black), You'd probably sell a lot to NO Saints, Purdue, etc. fans.. Not very practical probably.. but could you imagine the market for hammers representing your favorite team? Yellow and green would be all over Wisconsin.. Maybe sell in sets "Yellow ball peen and a matching sized green mallet" for Packer fans... etc.

Gold is an interesting idea.... the "golden hammer" award comes to mind.. (recognition for a good deed, cleanest workspace, etc.) Thinking like a trophy..

Clear and glow in the dark are also cool ideas. Making clear ones with built in lights (battery in the handle or)?

I know I know.. way crazy.. way too much.. but heck, you're on the GJ!

I am for the pink-magenta also, and also like the purple idea.
One other thought is to do a electric blue or some other unique bright blue other than the carlyle blue!
Not to big on brass, chrome or copper theme.
