Can't decide on which hammers to buy...

These will be used for just about everything - lots of automotive applications but also some woodworking and metalworking, plus general hands-on activities.

I have on my list:

- 1.5 lb Soft Face Bossing Mallet - Model TCBM1
- 45 oz Soft Face Dead Blow - Model 3
- 8 oz Soft Face Slimline Dead Blow - Model S0
- 36 oz Ball Peen Dead Blow - Model TCB36BP (or should I get the 26 oz???)
- 22 oz Soft Face Slimline Dead Blow - Model S2 (was considering the 26 oz Soft Face Dead Blow - non-Slimline)

Any feedback/suggestions (particularly from those who have these)? Trying to keep costs to a minimum and trying to cover all my bases but hard to really get a feel for them without having them in-hand.

I'd skip the S0, and grab another smaller ball peen. I only ordered one thinking I'd never use it when I ordered some hammers last and it has ended up being the most used. With the S0 the least used. It's just to small and not practical for much..

Do you think it would be that useless? I thought the S0 might be nice for some of my woodworking projects and thing like assembling furniture, etc. where you have dowels and other smaller bits and pieces that need to be put together and often fit snug or overly tight. I mean, I could obviously do it with a standard hammer or a small ball-peen, etc. but the soft-face and tiny size are quite attractive to me...I guess I probably just don't realize quite how small it is.

I have 3 because they're awesome. 1 lives at the metal lathe, 1 at the mill, and 1 lives in a systainer and I use it exclusively for woodworking activities like chisel work, knocking in dominos, and regular persuading. I've been tempted to buy a few more. I like their smallness because they're more like a regular hammer in size and just heavy enough to get it done.

Exactly what I had in mind, glad to hear that they actually do find some use!

Bit the bullet and bought the 5 hammers I mentioned a few posts up...now for the worst part - waiting for them to show up!
