Truth ratchets mystery

Has anybody seen truth ratchets like these before? I spent some serious hours trying to find info on them and I didn't see them in the truth tool section of alloy artifacts under 3/4" drive. Anyone have any idea on the age of these?The more I look I start to wonder if these are really early examples from truth. I also curious about any ideas on where to get a male adapter for them

Never seen a truth ratchet like that. I know OTC made a similar ratchet espically the head. And them 2 tool companies where less than 100 miles apart. How did you end up with 2?

They may be missing a part. This page describes the drive as pushing through from one side to the other to reverse it.

Shear coincidence I ended up with two. The both came in tool box lots I bought two weeks apart.

I have seen the adapter in other brand ratchets, probably was the otc look alike but I feel like I have seen a Williams like it too. None of them had the head and handle forged together that I recall. Both work but if they didn't I have no clue how you would rebuild them

They are sealed heads. Best you could do is soak it in some degreaser and hope it fixes it.

You may have to fabricate the drive piece. But that wouldn't be too hard with the right bar stock.

Those look like the 1/2 drive Truth ratchet I have. It has the push thru drive plug, but there is a slot in the plug and a corresponding post on the ratchet head that holds the plug captive. Yours might have originally been female drive and used double ended extensions.

Speaking of Williams, I picked this up yesterday for $1.75......I thought it looked pretty cool (sorry, I don't mean to highjack this thread)
Notice in the 3rd pic (side view) there is a screw, that if removed, will allow the head to be opened up (?)

Didn't hijack at all. You just confirmed I did recall right that it was a Williams ratchet with an adapter set up I was thinking about. Pretty sure the one I saw was 3/4" drive though.

I would attempt fabricating them, just have to do some research on what's the best way and what stock should be used. I haven't had to replace the detent ball or spring in a ratchet before, although I have 2 matco's that need the springs replaced. I planned to warrantee them vs. doing it myself due to time which is kind of what I paid the premium for. I would attempt it in a heart beat if it was one of my old ratchets.

I don't see a pic but I just mean the extension having 2 male drive ends, I have seen a couple older ratchets that are set up that way but there isnt a lot of info on truth out there. Twertsy has some of their catalogs

I strongly believe this 3/4 New Britain ratchet I have is the same as your Truth ratchets guys.

Another clue is that I have also seen a different style 3/4 New Britain pear head ratchet that was the same as 1/2 and 3/8 Truth pear heads.

What throws me off on the two truth ratchets I have are the plain round handles

Whoa...........that's interesting 3bay. Not sure how I missed that before. So this brings up the possibility that NB made rats for Truth and OTC, or OTC made for Truth and NB, which seems less likely.
