I have been looking at a Roto Ratchet for a while pulled the trigger on some Napa ratchets last night looks like gearwrench clone, but they were $28 shipped for a 1/4" and 3/8" figured can't go wrong at that price.

"looks like gearwrench clone"

Seems to be the consensus

I don't know how great of a deal this is, but I have been looking for a decent roto-ratchet, and found this NAPA pair for $28 so I pulled the trigger. I can't find much information on them, but look like rebranded Gearwrench.

Enjoy

I actually bought that set from that seller on Ebay a couple of weeks ago. They are definitely from the same source as Gearwrench. Not bad ratchets; more backdrag than my Snap On's, but the 3/8" is smaller than the Snap On, which I like.

Far nicer than HF, Gearwrench quality at a price that is hard to beat.

I’ve got the Carlyle/Cornwell in 1/4” (I realize the OP isn’t talking Carlyle here), it’s probably my favorite.

In 3/8” I’ve got Husky (which is GW I believe?) and Tekton, they’re “ok”

I’ve got the HF in 1/2”, it seems perfectly fine, I like it. I don’t detect any quality disparity between my Husky and HF, although they are 2 different drive sizes so not *exactly* apples to apples

I've got the Crescent branded version of these. About the same price but with different colors. I'm very happy with them.

1/4 in ratchets are a funny conversation. I have 4 or 5 of them. Different manufacturers, differing sizes and lengths. Yet I find myself reaching for the closest one, no preferance really. Thus my finding this kinda humorous. But by all means, buy a bunch and let us know what you prefer and why.

The only reason I really wanted a roto is to turn the handle up and use as a driver. I have a toptul flex head that can almost do it. I have never used a roto ratchet before So I will see if the thing is annoying when using as a regular ratchet.

I was looking hard at VIM 144 tooth roto ratchet, but it has a critical design flaw on where the selector was according to some amazon reviews.

Roto ratchets are easier to use at angles and under load vs flex heads. Because the flex head joint doesn't intersect the bolt axis, flex heads have a tendency to fold when used under load. Roto heads don't have that problem and thus are inherently more stable.
