Trying to decide on which Epoxy Floor

We'll be moving into our new construction house at the end of November and I'm trying to figure out which route to go with the Garage floor this time.

I had the Stonhard guys come out and do my last floor and I was very happy with it. The thing was bulletproof and took all sorts of abuse for years.

I tracked the same guy down again from 13 years ago and he said he could do my floor again for $1600 (~20'x20').

I'm debating on whether to go with Stonhard again or use something like Epoxy-Coat this time. I would want the floor with more of a gloss this time. The Stonhard didn't seem to have too much of a sheen. I've seen floor pics on here that looked like liquid glass but I don't want to go to that extreme. Maybe something in between.

I'm assuming Stonhard is as good as it gets vs. the DIY products. Just looking for some input.

you want a gloss, then a urethane is your best bet,... you want glass, then it's polyurea. both extremely strong and very much chemical resistant.

I can't remember which Stonhard product they used. I know they have epoxy and urethane products. I think it might have been epoxy.

I love the look of liquid glass but this will be more functional than for show and I'm sure the high gloss will start to look like **** once it gets scratched up and worked in. I don't believe in having to carry a floor jack around just to avoid scratching a floor.

Sounds like we are in the same boat, but our new house has two 24x36 detached garages and the attached garage was converted into a 900 sq ft workshop. Needless to say I have a lot of floors I want to do, but a lot of other things that need to be done first. I have seen two vendors on this board for floor coatings and reviews for both vendors and their products seems to be positive.

LOL thanks, but I have a ton of projects to do and we haven't even closed yet! I have to rip out the carpet and install hardwood before I can work on the flooring in the garage. I also may look into radiant heating in the workshop, so that may change the plans for the flooring.

If you are willing to spent the money....
Have the floor ground and polished.
They can make it shiney like they do marble
If you want color they can stain the concrete and seal it.
The floor at work has lots of traffic on it, forklifts, carts, ect
Once a year the floor is stripped and rewaxed and the floor looks great.
If money was no object for me that's what I would be doing

This is a great option and a personal favorite of mine.
However, keep in mind this type of flooring is not chemically resistant and will really get ugly from road salt being carried in by your cars.

Still an option to consider.

Thanks for the suggestion however that's not a direction I'm interested in going. The floor has to be resistant to chemicals and and road salt of course which we're subject to an ***-load of up here.

I've been doing a lot more reading and from I can tell I'm left with 4 choices right now; Epoxy-Coat, Legacy HD, Wolverine and Stonhard. As I said before Stonhard was amazing but expensive. I wouldn't mind doing it myself this time to save some cash as well.

Not sure which one I want to go with as of yet. Shipping to Canada and the subsequent **** by UPS or Fedex or whoever will play a part in my choice albeit not a very large part.

Why not ship to a courier service on the US side? Enjoy free shipping to them at least.

Thanks. I'll do that.

I also wanted to paint the foundation walls a different color. The go up about 3 feet from the floor before it transitions to drywall.

All the epoxies say to never leave the mixed batch in the bucket and to pour it out immediately on the floor. How would I go about doing the sides? Roller with a tray?
