Wondering if I should keep them or sell them. They've been fun to look at but I don't use them and my kids don't want them. I have everything from an old rotary lift to hand tools for woodworking. Any ideas?
Since I just got out of the hospital for a blood clots in the lung I had some time to think about this very question. Both my sons already have enough tools. Both at one time worked as mechanics. I asked them to post on here and see if anybody wanted anything for just the shipping cost. I have a lot of full vintage sets and most of the vintage stuff is separated into manufacturers. That way people that wanted them would get them. Selling locally would get nothing so why go nuts. My actual mechanic tools are mostly worn out after 50 years in the business. They can just use their judgement in their dispersal .
Good to "see" you here again elidas, although I wish the circumstances were different. That sounds a little ominous. I don't want to read too much into your post; I don't want to be insensitive to what you're saying, either. How about I just say I've missed you and I'm sorry to hear you've been ill, and hoping for the best. As log as you're here - please check out your "odd assortment" thread from 2018, linked here. I think I may have solved the mystery of your ratchet adaptor for you.
I’ll take them lol. I have never sold a tool nor would I ever and I have lots of tools just keep them in boxes stacked up then the ones at my work are in the box and the ones at home that I have that aren’t extra are in my two boxes at home.
Honestly, I agree with the second post, give them to your grandkids. I'd make a couple of tool chests and label them grandpas antique tools, do not sell. In 40 years they'll be glad they have something of quality and they might be worth a ton. Think of 1900 levels, vices, socket sets, etc today.
