Trying to identify some old tools

I think the first is a Disston Triumph, the second a Morrill , or possibly a Disston Monarch, third is unknown to me.

I think the saw set is the most common "what is this?" of all tools. You can add my name to the list of people that have asked. I picked one up in a toolbox from some old man at a yard sale, and he didn't even know what it was, he thought it was a wire stripper.

Thanks for this - and, not surprised that people don't recognize it - I wondered if it had to do with tin work somehow but this makes so much more sense.

No thanks! Saw sets are a slipper slope. Next thing you know I'll be looking at rabbet planes and spoke shaves and the like.

Gateway tool. Very cheap to start, then you creep into spokeshave, then saws, then planes.


But you for probably flip 42x sets quite easily.

It's not the expense. I don't have the inclination, but even if I did, it's the time and energy it takes to learn another niche!
