I’m designing and building a chicken coop out of metal. I just want to be different and looking for a modern/contemporary design. Do you guys have recommendations for tube connectors/brackets that will make this easier/faster, reduce mistakes with keeping it square? I’m going to try to use thin wall tube to keep it light, except for the foundation.

I see that McMaster has tube connectors that slip in and weld. That’s a good possibility. Downside is that they require all joints to be cut.

Wondering if there are others. Perhaps those used for metal buildings. I’m going to stop by my local building supplier to see what they have.

I can always ****/miter joint and weld. Just looking for some better, faster, etc.. especially due to the scale of it.

Attached is an example of the coop style I’m going for.

Ideas for faster: design it with angle and/or flat bar you can shear the material with an ironworker and that my friend is very fast fabrication. A cut that could take you 30 seconds is over in 1 second BAM! Spot or mig weld or punch holes and plug weld external joining plates. That way you don't stress over fitting up miter cuts. Just get it close, jig or fixture and pour the wire to it.
